Hardcore. This brought up so many questions about who did what and why.

Fundamentally, Christianity turned these nations of the empire into the worship of Jewish ancestors and contemporaries - plus a good portion of their laws. No doubt money was exchanged in this process.

Whereas previously, worship was dedicated to Roman, and before then Greek, ancestors as gods and their rituals - which didn't seem to have such controlling laws. Not dissimilar to modern secular Jews who flexibly maintain certain rituals and traditions only.
